What is the age requirement?

We pierce children’s earlobes starting at 5 years old.

What paperwork/ID’s do we need to bring?

Parents: We need a state or government issued photo ID as well as an original birth certificate.

Guardians: We need a state or government issued photo ID as well as a legal document stating custody.

Passport, Driver’s License, Learners and State ID are all examples of photo ID’s we can accept.

How are the piercings done?

At Clove, children’s earlobes are pierced like anything else — with a single-use needle. We use implant-grade titanium jewelry which is sterilized by a Statim autoclave prior to the piercing. The piercing site will be cleaned and prepped and we will use a single-use marker to show placement.

We never use piercing guns or hand pressurized devices.

Do we need an appointment?

Nope! We take walk-ins daily so you do not need to schedule ahead of time.

What if my child wants to back out?

If your child decides that they don’t want to go through with the piercing, we will not continue the service.

As frustrating as this may be for some parents, we think it’s important that children can set boundaries about what happens to their own body. Of course, we will attempt to ease their nerves if that’s all it is, but if it’s a no, it’s a no.

We can always try again another day!

Can we bring our own jewelry?

Unfortunately, no. We must use implant-grade materials for all fresh piercings and have the documentation to back this up. This a requirement from our insurance but we also want the best for the health of your child’s piercing.

You are more than welcome to come back once the piercings have healed and we can swap out the jewelry if you still prefer it. We do change outs free of charge.

How much will it cost?

A pair of lobe piercings start at $110 for children. This includes the standard titanium jewelry. If you opt for something other than the standard such as gems, opals, gold, etc. this will increase the price.

*We will not use hoops to start for children under 13yo.

We will always inform you of any price changes before the piercings are done. The last thing we want to do is surprise you with a higher price at the end of the service.

Do YOU OFFER Aftercare?

We sell aftercare (sterile saline spray from Steri-Wash) that you can purchase while you’re here for $10 OR you can purchase a similar product from most stores. Look out for “wound wash” in the first aid aisle if you go this route. The only ingredients should be water and sodium chloride (9mg/ml)

Be sure you do not purchase saline intended for eyes or nasal use. Absolutely do not use peroxide, alcohol, neosporin, etc.

Kids under 13yo will have a flat back titanium post and can choose between:

• beads, disks or hearts (all included in the standard pricing)

• cabochons (opals, natural stone, etc)

• claw balls

• bezel cz’s

• trinities

• quads

• flowers

• some solid 14k gold options

Kids over 13yo have the same options with a few additional such as:

• hoops (captive bead rings)

• prong cz’s
